St. Lucie Community Resilience Planning Workshop
January of 2019 we met with the St. Lucie County Environmental Resources Department and proposed development of a Climate Change workshop targeted to County & City elected officials and staff.

We felt there was value to be gained by bringing elected officials and staff together with resources that would enable the development of a common understanding of the issues while providing examples of what others in the state are doing and the tools that would be available to assist our county and local governments.

Together with the St. Lucie County Environmental Resources Department we planned, developed and ultimately hosted this workshop on June 26th, 2019.  The workshop was well attended by 115 participants; including 10 elected officials and/or their aides, 25 agency and non-profit staff and approximately 80 staff members from 4 jurisdictions.

The county and municipalities applied collaboratively for and received a grant from the DEP that will assist a funding vulnerability assessment, the first step to planning.

The agenda for the workshop and links to the presentations follow.
