A Trail to the River

Lying just north of Village Green Drive on Route 1 was a wonderful piece of land owned by the Savannas Preserve State Park.  Here one found the Halpatiokee Nature Trails which meandered through several diverse ecosystems and end at a dock on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River.

Take a look at the pictures of the flora and fauna that were found here . . . and understand why we fought so hard to save this special place.
